Patrol
Midvale Police Department Patrol Division is an elite
group of men and women who have devoted themselves to professionalism and making
the City of Midvale a safe place to live and work. The patrol division is
the first line of defense from criminals and disasters. Our patrol
officers work a dual role not only as a patrol officer but as a Community
Oriented Policing Officer. Each officer is assigned an area in the city
where they are responsible for organizing neighborhood watch groups, crime free
multi housing and attending community meetings..
- Bike Patrol
- The bike patrol has the capability to ride and patrol, 365 days. The officers ride in almost all weather conditions. Officers will generally ride with a partner optimizing the officer's safety. The bike patrol's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, proactive patrolling, increased visibility, self initiated activity.
The officers patrol the entire city paying special attention to apartment complex's, parks, malls, special events, and residential/commercial areas. The mobility of the bicycle allows the officers to access areas otherwise not accessible by
patrol vehicles.
- K-9
Unit
-
The Midvale Police K9 Unit is a member of the Multi Agency
Deployment concept. Multi Agency is comprised of all the following K9
Units in the Salt Lake valley, Midvale, Murray, Sandy, So. Jordan, So.
Salt Lake, West Jordan, West Valley, and Salt Lake City. All
of these agencies train together weekly, and the theory behind Multi
Agency is if one agency needs a dog or multiple dogs, then a call is made
for additional K9 support.
- Traffic
-
Most of the citizens of Midvale City are concerned with speeders in their
neighborhood and general traffic dangers. Midvale City has many of the most busy
and congested streets in the Salt Lake Valley. We have seen increases in
"road rage" incidents through out the city. The best way that we have
to combat the traffic problems is with the Traffic Unit.
