FRAUD

Fraud or Identity Theft is when someone takes, uses, sells or transfers identifying information of another person without that persons consent or approval with the intent to use that information for unlawful purpose.

GANGS

The most prevalent gang crime is criminal mischief such as graffiti and property damage.  The present gang culture bases it's decisions to act upon style of dress as well as verbal and non-verbal communication.  Within the City of Midvale there are several documented gangs and gang members.  The importance of colors, symbols and numbers to gang members is very high.  Parents that are aware of these symbols can help deter their children from becoming involved with gangs.  Midvale police has education classes for parents and concerned citizens through Neighborhood Watch.

NARCOTICS

If you suspect a problem with methamphetamines and/or other drug use, please contact the National Drug Information Treatment and Referral Hotline at (800) 662-HELP(4357). They can supply you with: printed materials.  Meth..what is it? Learn more.

RAVES/DANCE PARTIES

We would encourage all of our residents to get the facts on Raves/Dance parties. We would also encourage you to keep your children away from any parties where you are not sure of who is attending or what they will be doing. If you find that you child is in possession of baby pacifiers, brightly colored clothing, glow sticks and other unusual paraphernalia, they may be involved in these activities. The very people selling drugs sponsor most of the parties. If you become aware of such a party being held in our area, please call us immediately.  For more information Click here

SEX CRIMES

being forced to perform a sex act or into having sex is rape and it is a crime

Many victims of rape know their attacker.  This is called date rape or acquaintance rape.  Nothing entitles anyone to force others to perform sexual acts without consent.  It is a betrayal of trust and causes long lasting emotional injuries.

If you are a victim please contact our Crime Victim Advocates at 801 256-2505
