All parents with children should have the child’s fingerprints, description and photo on file at home in case the worse should happen. Please come to the Midvale Police station and pick up your free Child Identification Kit. Remember to update the description and photo every six months. If the fingerprints are good quality, they only need to be done once in the child’s life.
DNA can be obtained and stored easily at home also. A cotton Q-Tip rubbed on the inside of the child’s cheek and then sealed inside of a zip lock baggie and stored in the freezer will work. A hair sample with the root attached stored the same way will also work.
